Valheim Seeds Location

Acquiring seeds in Valheim is a rather easy task. While exploring the vast world, you are likely to collect seeds of different types and sizes, which are not too hard to miss due to their larger size and glowing appearance. However, since this is a magical realm, the seeds’ uses are not as straightforward as you might expect.

Simply planting the seeds in a hole and hoping for the best is not going to cut it. Specialized farming equipment is required to make the most out of the seeds. To start growing your own food as soon as possible, it is recommended to craft a cultivator early on in the game.

How to craft a cultivator in Valheim

To create a cultivator in Valheim, you must first take some preparatory steps. Initially, you will need to construct a workbench and gather materials like metal and coal. However, you cannot make a cultivator until you defeat the first boss, Eikthyr the Stag, as it prevents you from accessing the Burial Chambers in the Black Forest, where you can find Surtling Cores.

To build a smelter, you need five cores and 20 stones. After smelting raw copper ore into six bars, combine them with ten pieces of wood, four pieces of stone, and coal to create a forge. Once you’ve crafted a forge, combine copper and tin to make bronze, which unlocks the cultivator recipe. The cultivator requires five pieces of core wood and five of bronze to create. Finally, you can make a cultivator and start farming.

How to plant Valheim seeds?

Now it is time to learn how to plant Valheim seeds. To make a patch of ground suitable for growing crops to sustain yourself and your friends, you need to cultivate it. This can be done by equipping the cultivator and clicking the right mouse button to open the menu. From there, choose the ‘Cultivate’ option and click on an available patch of ground to turn it into farming land.

Once the land is ready, you can plant Valheim seeds. Select the seeds you want to plant from the menu and place them on the cultivated patch of land. Make sure not to bunch too many seeds together, as this can limit their growth potential. It’s best to spread them out to maximize the number of seeds that will become full-grown plants.

Be aware that different plants in Valheim have varying growing times, and it may take a few in-game days to see results. You can only harvest a plant once it has fully matured. However, once this occurs, it should become easier to sustain yourself and your friends with the produce.
