Earth Day 2020 update introduced the artwork on April 23rd, 2020. Animal Crossing Art Guide will help you find out whether Redd’s paintings are real or fake.

Art pieces are paintings and sculptures that may be acquired and donated to the museum from Jolly Redd’s Treasure Trawler, as long as they are not forged. Blathers will be able to extend the museum by donating the first item, which will need one day of building.

Genuine and fabricated artifacts in New Horizons have distinct appearances, allowing the user to distinguish between them before purchase. 14 pieces are certain to be authentic, while the bulk has been fabricated.

New to New Horizons are the sinking painting, twinkling painting, academic painting, detailed painting, glowing painting, mysterious painting, tremendous statue, informative statue, rock-head statue, and warrior statue.

Male locals may occasionally send a piece of art to a resident. Jock and lazy peasants are free to send any work of art, genuine or fraudulent. Villagers who are irritable might send sculptures, which can be genuine or phony. Smug villagers will only send the player false items. Female villagers will not send art to the player, regardless of their personality. Forged art cannot be sold at Nook’s Cranny; instead, it must be donated to a villager or thrown away in a dumpster to be disposed of.

Jolly Redd’s Treasure Trawler contains four art areas, each of which may accommodate a different sort of artwork. The leftmost art slot may accommodate any form of artwork. The front-left slot is suitable for small paintings. In the back-middle slot, you can display small paintings or sculptures. In the back-right slot, you can display any work of art. They are not as common as other artworks, because this is the only space that can hold large sculptures.

Redd forcefully spawns a piece of art every time he comes to town if it hasn’t been donated to the player’s museum. You will need an Animal Crossing Art Guide to identify which is fake or real.

Where do I look for Redd?

Before Redd appears, you must speak with Blathers and have him suggest the concept of permitting art. This will happen once you donate at least 60 times to the museum, according to Ninji’s research (fish, bugs, or fossils). Isabelle will warn you about dodgy art sellers during her morning announcements the day after Blathers talks about art. After that, you’ll be able to discover Redd wandering around your island.

When you speak with him, he’ll offer you a random artwork for 498,000 Bells. He’ll offer you a “price break” of 4,980 Bells if you decline. This piece of art will be authentic.

Blathers will talk to you about putting on an art show if you give him your first piece. During the next day’s remodeling, the museum will be closed. Redd will arrive at your island at random times starting the next day, and the museum will open with an art exhibition. Redd arrives on a boat at your island’s teeny-tiny beach in the north. The beach is located at the far rear of your island, and if you haven’t terraformed it, you’ll need to use a ladder to get there.

For 100,000 Bells, Redd can be added as a vendor at Harv’s Island Plaza. He’ll bring two random pieces of art with him when he arrives, which might be false or real. You may still only buy one piece every day on Harv’s island. According to our research, if you buy one of the items, it will be changed the next day with a new, random piece of art. The supply will be replenished on Monday if you never buy one of the two pieces on display from Redd.

Where do I put the art?

If the artwork is real, it can be donated to the Museum. It may also be utilized as a regular piece of furniture in your house. It may also be put anywhere on the island if it is a statue. Even Timmy and Tommy will not want to buy a fake if you buy one. If you don’t want it anymore, you’ll have to get rid of it with a Trash Can furnishing item. Alternatively, you may simply display it to deceive your less-educated peers.

How can you find out whether Redd’s Paintings are Real or Fake?

Artworks by Redd are all inspired by real-world paintings and sculptures. However, the tricky fox may try to sell you a counterfeit that looks very similar to the real thing. The fakes will have visible differences from the genuine ones.

Unlike the genuine painting, the forged one has a coffee stain on the right side of the canvas. In comparison with the genuine, the forgery’s wooden frame is duller, and the white matboard is slightly dirty near the bottom and left corners of the canvas. There is a strange key taped to the back of the forgery as well.
